Wednesday June 9
Probably the less said about this day the better! Why?
Well, although I don’t really follow football, when it comes to rugby league’s State of Origin I’m a proud Queenslander. The first State of Origin match was played in Townsville in regional Queensland, the destination our little tagalong is heading to so we were ready to offer long and loud support. Our campsite in the grounds of the Marlborough Hotel was chosen so we could get with the locals, watch the game and cheer on the Maroons (Queensland).

What a whitewash we suffered! Final score New South Wales Blues 50 d Queensland Maroons 6. 😱
Thursday June 10. We licked our wounds and quietly left Marlborough on Day 4 for our next destination, Brandybottle Campground near Clairview. What a gem of a find this has turned out to be!

Friday June 11
Our one night stopover has turned into three nights. It’s relaxing, friendly, there’s a choice of powered and unpowered sites, our hostess Jacky cooks a meal at night that we can order, we can play golf on their little 9 hole course, showers are hot and the bathrooms clean. What more could you wish for!

On Sunday we move on to a riverside farm stay a few kilometres up the road and in the meantime we’ll continue to enjoy each other’s company in these lovely peaceful surroundings. Cheers! 🍷

There are still 2 more games to go 🤞
