Are you seeking security or adventure?
It’s too late in my life to seek security so it’s adventure all the way for me! I never really thought too much about planning for my future security when I had an income that may have supported such plans, so in retirement I’m winging it!
This terrifies most of my friends but really doesn’t concern me at all … you see, I love my life and my lifestyle.

For the last 10 years I’ve been on the move, travelling Australia in Brutus the Beast, my faithful old campervan. Now, that’s an adventure in itself – or should that be challenge – before we even hit the road and go anywhere!

You see, Brutus is a 1986 model Ford Econovan and has travelled about 400,000 kilometres in his lifetime. He’s slowing down, hates hills and his body is rapidly deteriorating. But … he has given me so many wonderful adventures over the last 10 years and I’m sure – or should that be hopeful- he has many more left in him for us to enjoy together.

Life is an adventure when you’re open to ideas and opportunities, when you allow chance and change to lead you down a different path and when spontaneity overrides routine.
There’s a saying amongst my nomadic friends that we’re never lost, we just went a different way … and sometimes that takes us to a different and unexpected destination.

That’s my life’s adventure, not too much security but never quite knowing where I’ll end up.

Summed it up beautifully Rosemary! Good old Brutus, still circling around the country. I hope he lasts a bit longer for you.
