Country pubs often have quirky decorations and the Lawrence pub was adorned with hats … most looked like they had an interesting story to tell!

A car ferry crosses the Clarence River here in Lawrence, which is only about 30 kms north of Grafton in New South Wales. We camped out the back of the pub for the night and then continued on to Kyogle Showgrounds for a couple of nights.

We’re not rushing to finish our little getaway, although these chilly mornings (around 3°c) remind us of the comforts of home, especially the heating!

Ah Rosemary you are talking about my old stomping ground of the clarence valley can get very cold in winter but bloody hot in summer but a beautiful place to visit enjoy
