An Appointment With The Doc

Doc Martin that is!

Day 12: Port Isaac, otherwise known as Portwenn of Doc Martin TV series fame.

The small brown building in the distance is Doc Martin’s.

Port Isaac is a quaint fishing village of white washed cottages, narrow roads, headland walks and the smell of the sea.

We stopped here for lunch and naturally had to share the local fish & chips and a fish pie. The verdict on both? Delicious!

Grimple’s into the wine again!

There are signs everywhere warning of the seagulls attacking for food and we actually witnessed a fellow walking with an icecream and next minute 🕊️ whoosh … he was left with only the bottom of the cone and a seagull had the rest!

Here’s a few more pics of Port Isaac.

Looking down to the slipway
A stormy sky but the rain held off all day
A very wonky building
Walking back to the car park along the headland.

This was our trip today.

Doc Martin wasn’t available for an appointment today even though I could have done with one after huffing and puffing up and down the steep winding tracks!

I really must get fitter to enjoy the hilly English countryside.
