If you come to Beijing you simply must see this spectacular show called The Golden Mask Dynasty. My words will never be able to describe the wonderful music, dance, acrobatics and visual display of this amazing show.

The stage was set by the arrival through the audience of these enormous birds.

They were followed by a parade of peacocks perched on the heads of beautiful women.

But nothing could have prepared us for the cascading water that flowed over the stage as part of the story being told.

We were able to follow the story as there were story boards projected in both Chinese and English.

This scene represented the start of civilisation, farming and agriculture.

After a wonderful finale we made our way back to our tour bus and the hotel. Time to pack ready for an early start tomorrow as we farewell Beijing.

It wasn’t only the show that made the evening so special. As we waited to enter, who should appear but my cousins Geoff and Lyn! We knew they had booked a similar holiday but out of 26 million people imagine us meeting up here.

It was a lovely surprise and capped off another day full of new experiences.
