Two days ago a terrorist attack claimed many lives in Christchurch, New Zealand. I literally did a double take when I saw this tree on my walk this morning.

This took my breath away. Not only does it looked beautifully carved, can you see the kiwi among the roots? It’s like the tree has embraced it and given it a safe haven.

Of course, we don’t have kiwis in Australia- not the feathered kind anyway 😜 – but this ‘kiwi’ certainly made me look twice.
