Hundreds of people were bussed from the Festival grounds to a property about 6 kms out of town for the experience we were all here for – the re-enactment of the Legend that became The Man From Snowy River.
Banjo Paterson’s famous poem was narrated to the stirring soundtrack of the movie of the same name
He was right among the horses as they climbed the further hill ….
And they climbed the further hill again – and again – and again! What do they say, you should never work with animals or children. Well, these animals had a mind of their own and while the poem called for them to be rounded up and driven down the hill they had different ideas!
Like the colt from old Regret that got away
And joined the wild bush horses ….
these horses refused to give up their freedom and the horsemen couldn’t round them up!
The end of the show wasn’t as scripted but it was a spectacular display on a warm sunny day in the stunning countryside of Victoria’s high country.
I loved every minute of it 😍
