I’ve just enjoyed three lovely days at one of my favourite campsites- Lake Indoon in Western Australia.

I expected it to be quite busy here as it was a long weekend with a Public Holiday on Monday but we really had the pick of the spots when we drove in on Sunday.

This magnificent old tree welcomes you at the entry to the campground. Strong winds on Sunday blew down a large branch – a reminder to all campers about the dangers of parking under a tree!

Fortunately the wind died down and we had two days of warm sunshiny weather. I did a wildflower walk but sadly didn’t see the orchids I was expecting 😟 However, the surrounding bush was a picture with its variety of plants.

Three relaxing days – reading, gave myself a pedicure, cooked a delicious fish curry – and shared it with friends, Dave and Sandy.
In 2014 and 2015 when I was last in the west Lake Indoon was one of my favourite places to camp. I’m happy to say it still is!
