A Story Book Garden

I had heard of Memerambi Springs Garden Centre. I’d even followed their Facebook page after a friend had posted photos of it. But I truly came across it unexpectedly when

travelling in the Burnett Region of Queensland recently. What a wonderful surprise!

Memerambi Springs

The surrounding countryside is dry, brown and harsh to the eye and all of a sudden there’s this amazing oasis of lush green with a profusion of colourful flowers.

At every turn of the winding path there were quirky features – a hobbit house

An old fashioned pump that spilled water into the garden …

Old windows that formed backdrops for potted plants and assorted paraphernalia …

An old couple relaxing in the garden …

Pots and planters …

And at the end of the path … this

What a feast for the senses! This beautiful garden centre created its own cool green environment in amongst the grey brown stubble of harvested grain fields and crackly dry roadside grasses.

Such a wonderful surprise to stumble across it as we were exploring new territory within a couple of hundred kilometres from home.

It was like stepping into a story book of a magical garden!
