Family and Friendships

Our visit to the UK was planned to catch up with Dave’s family, and the Clevedon Flower Show was a perfect opportunity to spend some more time with cousins Andy and Gill before we fly home on August 30 … OMG! That’s tomorrow! Where has the time gone? 😱

There was more to the flower show than the flowers I shared with you previously. There was also a wonderful display of old cars. How did these big boys ever fit into those little cars?

Some more classics!

I had my first ever try at Tombola and managed to draw a winning ticket 🎟️. Number 895 … I wonder what I’ve won 🤔. Oh wow, meet the new member of our family!

This is Jilly

And here is Gill with a G with Jilly with a J …

Grimple and Grundle also made a new friend …

When we left the flower show Andy took us for a quick drive around Clevedon to see their famous pier

… and the 12th century St Andrew’s church

Our plans to meet in Cheddar the next day were thwarted by the August Bank Holiday crowds so it was hugs all round when we were able to pull off to the side of the road at the top of Cheddar Gorge to say farewell to Dave’s family and my new friends.

I hope we can offer them the same hospitality in Australia some time.
