We’ve covered some territory since my last blog post where we left our friends behind as we headed north towards Mackay.

Monto & Biloela
The donation camp at Monto is perfectly situated at the top of the main street so easy walking to cafes, shops and pubs. On the way here we stopped at a gorgeous little cafe in Eidsvold where we sat in their garden to enjoy a cold drink.

Our stop at Biloela was at the The Queensland Heritage Park where we had 2 nights on power and made the most of the air conditioning as the temperature is now climbing over 30°c.
Calliope Riverside Camping
Dave & I had 3 nights here camped right beside the river. We shared our campfire with our new friend Jan who met in Biloela.
As I pulled into the camp site I had chosen I was approached by a fellow camper wielding a long handled shovel warning me to close up the car and stay inside as there was a highly venomous Eastern Brown Snake under the car making his way to the river 😱 I quickly locked up, no questions asked! 🐍

We have now travelled about 550kms and it’s taken us 7 days. That’s why my blog is called The Daily Snail – we move at a snail’s pace- with our home on our back 🤣🤣🤣

Good to see you enjoying your travels, enjoyed your company for the first 3 days, I ended up stopping at Coalstoun Lakes on my way home.
