We headed to The Capricorn Coast for the next couple of days and played tourists between Yeppoon in the north and Emu Park to the south. The orange area on this map is known as Central Queensland and includes this lovely coastline.

Where did we stay?
Our base camp was at Bush to Beach Farmstay about halfway between both towns. It’s a work in progress for the owner,Dave, but we were happy with what it offered for our stay – a level parking space and a quiet location off the main road. There were a few bonuses!

The Coastline
There were some lovely sandy beaches …

But also some rocky foreshores…

We stopped at the Rosslyn Bay marina where you catch the ferry to Great Keppel Island but decided not to *’get wrecked’ this time around!
*get wrecked refers to a raunchy advertisement that used to run promoting Great Keppel as a party island for young people back in the 1980’s – is it really that long ago??
Our coastline drive ended in Emu Park where we sat on the beach front and watched families enjoying the pristine shallows. We even spotted a whale frolicking in this protected bay! Another bonus!

The Singing Ship is a prominent landmark here, dedicated to Captain James Cook who sailed into this area in the 1780’s.

After a couple of nights we were on our way again. Next stop an overnight behind the Marlborough Hotel on our way to revisit a campground we enjoyed 4 years ago, Brandybottle, at Clairview.
We’ll catch up again there 👋
