I’m talking literally here, not figuratively, as I’ve gone to Dundowran Beach to look after these two little dogs for about three weeks while their owners are off on holidays.
Meet Millie, a sweet little old lady who is 16 years old. She’s a bit arthritic and is slow to move … but takes off like a rocket if she’s chasing her young friend Bailey.

Bailey has just turned 5 years old 🎂 He is a gorgeous boy, a shmoodle breed, who loves lots of attention.

This is my third time in this area in the last two months where I have stayed in someone’s home to care for their fur kidz while they are off gallivanting around.

I’m not complaining as I love this Hervey Bay area and have established a nice group of acquaintances that meet for coffee and lunch each week.
The home I’m in is perched on a hill looking north to the sea. I’ve been picking a handful of blueberries every day plus sugar snap peas, silver beet, spring onions and tomatoes, and yesterday I noticed the strawberries starting to colour up.
The resort style pool has been well used as the temperatures have hovered around 30°C and the water temp has been about the same.

Times certainly change and that old saying ‘It’s a dog’s life!’ doesn’t ring true for the pampered pooches I’ve been looking after.
This might have been true in the 1600’s but a dog’s life today is one to envy and I’m happy to be sharing their comfortable lifestyle 😊

Dogs teach us so many valuable lessons but this is one of my favourites …
