Today’s theme for National Road Safety Week is

This campaign has been very successful as I drive mainly in regional and remote areas and most people do have their headlights on – and it does make a difference! I notice it particularly with red and dark coloured cars that often blend into the road if they are not using their lights.

Now I have a confession to make 😬. I NEVER drive with my lights on during the day! Why? Well, because my old van, Brutus the Beast, is so old there are no warning alarms that tell me I have my headlights on so when I stop I just jump out, walk away and ……. return to a flat battery!
