On the drive from Aramac to Muttaburra the other day we had a ‘go slow’ section as 1800 cattle were being moved from the Gulf Country towards Blackall. This map gives you a rough idea of their journey.

Today’s drover was moving them along on his quad bike*, although there were also drovers on horseback.

It was a fantastic sight to see so many cattle on the move heading towards greener pastures. The drover estimated another 6 or 7 weeks to reach their destination.

Here’s how it looked as we drove through the herd on our way back to our camp at Aramac.
