Bundaberg Port Marina was alive with mermaids, music and market stalls when it hosted Oceanfest, a wonderful day out on the waterfront.
There was something for everyone! The Reef Room offered information sessions and presentations about The Great Barrier Reef …
There was an Educational and Environmental Precinct where 30 different groups presented information on how we can all play a role in protecting our natural resources – Cut the Glow was one of them!
Children were well catered for and several local schools and organisations provided loads of activities to keep them happy.
A display of vintage cars featured one just like Grandma Duck used to drive 😊
Market stalls focussed on the sea with fishing tackle, decorative driftwood creations, shells and sarongs.
And of course there was food, food and more food – 35 different stalls offered choices to suit everyone.
I stayed with the ocean theme and devoured fresh prawns and scallops as I listened to the non-stop live music in the Entertainment Precinct looking out over the marina.
Congratulations to the organisers, the Rotary Club of Bundaberg Sunrise, for a well run, fun filled programme.
Oceanfest! It’s definitely on my calendar for 2020!
