The Daly Waters Pub is an experience, not just a pub! Tourists from all around the world have left their mark here – and their bras, their hats and their shoes!

The owner buzzes around on his mobility scooter making sure everything is right for the guests and then brings his ‘pets’ in for a pat … and a carrot or two.

A horse and foal come in and people can feed them carrots – the kids loved this 🥕 Then a Brahman bull and calf followed, then a nanny goat… and I think that was it! They are obviously well loved and cared for.

The campground is adjacent to the pub and reasonably priced at only $16 per night for a powered site for a Solo traveller. Clever thinking on their part because it means more money in my purse to spend in the pub! When you check in they offer their famous beef and barra (barramundi) dinner and you’d be mad not to book for that as well!

Good atmosphere, good company, good food and good entertainment- all in the middle of nowhere in the middle of Australia. As Nino Culotta said “ We’re a weird mob!”
