There’s a campground in the Yanchep National Park which seems to be plonked in the middle of an old fashioned resort 🙄
There’s an inn, a 9 hole golf course, a coffee shop, park like grounds – everything you don’t expect in a National Park!

The campground is quite small with about a dozen grassy sites and others on a bitumen carpark. It’s very popular so we could only get a car park site which wasn’t ideal but the lovely grounds and surrounding wildlife made it a very enjoyable overnight stop.

There’s kangaroos everywhere…

Caves to explore …

And a koala boardwalk to catch a glimpse of these cuties. This is where I think I have taken my worst photo ever! Spot the koala if you can 😂😂

In my defence I was elbowing small children out of the way at the time to get a good view – and the koala moved as soon as I’d got into position ! That’ll teach me to be pushy 😂😂
If you could get a grassy campsite it would be a great place to stay for a few days as there are lots of walking trails, guided tours of the caves, a ropes and adventure course and of course happy hour at the camp kitchen with fellow travellers.
