We enjoyed a few days with Dave’s daughter Linda and her husband, Brian, at their new home in Kuttabul just north of Mackay.

Their home is modern and spacious with open plan living areas and a large patio overlooking the pool towards the creek that runs along the back boundary.

Palm Tree Creek defines the back boundary and Brian & Linda have plans to clear out some of the undergrowth for easier access to enjoy the bubbling clear water that trickles past. Summer, the wet season, should see this little creek change from a trickle to a stream!

Linda’s orchids are loving the climate here and there are some now growing naturally on the big tree in the yard.

And the Crown of Thorns is just a mass of flowers!

Our stay was relaxed and Linda and Brian took us to a couple of different restaurants they have already discovered since settling here, but more about them next time.
