Last weekend we headed to Brisbane to celebrate Stephanie’s 30th birthday. It’s about a 3 to 4 hour drive from our house sit in Hervey Bay so we decided to make it a mini holiday and booked a couple of nights in a hotel within easy walking distance of the party venue.

It was a bit of a nostalgic trip as I haven’t been into Brisbane for probably 20 years so it was a challenge finding my way around and remembering the streets and suburbs. How it has changed! Hard to believe it was once my home town.
We had a few hours to kill before we could check in so decided to take advantage of the River Cat that plies the Brisbane River.

3 hours later we disembarked after travelling from West End to St Lucia and then through the city to Hamilton Wharf and back to West End – all for $1! What a fabulous way to see the city and surrounds.

It was soon time to put on our party clothes – the theme was Black, Gold & Purple – and help Steph celebrate her birthday 🎂

Back at the hotel later the city lights shone brightly from our balcony and we reminisced about being 30 …. sooo many years ago!

Celabrations to all. This makes me want to cross the nullabour again.. (19th)iv always gone around brisbane but this inspires me. Thank you.

The river certainly takes the stress out of the rat race on the roads!
