Camping with Kingfishers

You might think that we’re a lot of bird watchers but the Kingfishers is the name of my local camping group in the Wide Bay area of Queensland.

This week we are on a mystery dining tour – in other words a pub crawl!

It’s not as bad as it sounds as we’re definitely not drinking and driving but every day we are given a new destination to camp behind a pub. There we enjoy dinner together at the pub and have free camping in return.

There are about 20 motorhomes on our little mystery tour which started last night at the Apple Tree Creek Hotel which is on the Bruce Highway about 5kms north of Childers, Qld.

We enjoyed a fabulous pizza for dinner

Lovely outdoor dining area

… and at 9 o’clock this morning we were told our next destination- Yandaran.

Not far between camps 🚐🚐

I’ll let you know more about that stop tomorrow.
