The Yaraka postman jumps in his Toyota Ute, throws the mail bags in the back and starts his 300+ km delivery run every Tuesday and Friday.
We left at 10am and popped letters and parcels into mailboxes on the way to Jundah travelling on some roads that were no more than sandy tracks.
At Jundah we picked up mail to be delivered on our return trip and stopped for a coffee at the Jundah store.
A young local girl also came shopping – on her horse!
The return trip took in a visit to the Welford National Park ranger to drop off some mail
and the cattle station known as Retreat.
Deliveries done along made roads and back roads, we were back in Yaraka about 4.30pm.
What a day! A day in the life of the Yaraka mailman. Thanks for the great experience Bob 😎
