Magoffin’s grave is down a dusty dirt track about 45 kms west of Yaraka in Queensland.

You’ll pass it if you’re looking for Magee’s Shanty, made famous by Banjo Paterson in his poem The Bush Christening.

It is a simple yet beautiful tribute to a man who died whilst looking for water in 1885.

A lonely grave for what would have been a lonely death.
