Muttaburra, The Centre of Queensland

Muttaburra is probably more well known as the home of the Muttaburrasaurus, a dinosaur that lived about 100 million years ago and whose bones were found by a local farmer.

But it is also claims fame as the geographical centre of Queensland.

I had a wonderful day trip to Muttaburra with Pip and Di, who I met at the Yaraka Hotel. We are currently camping together in a Bush Camp at Aramac, about 80kms from Muttaburra known as Five Emus Camp. It’s living up to its name.
