I’m not talking about indigenous people here but rather that elegant bird, the brolga, known for many years as the Native Companion.

I was lucky enough to see a pair of brolgas as I drove away from Yaraka the other day so I took these photos while sitting in my van so as not to scare them away.

Brolgas perform an elaborate courtship dance and mate for life. Here’s a video I found of two brolgas really trying to impress each other.

These ones obviously danced successfully as they have some chicks 🥰

I’m so lucky to be in an environment where nature offers all these wonderful experiences 😊
