The People You Meet

One of the greatest joys of the travelling life is the people you meet along the way. They make places more memorable, campfires more enjoyable and travelling more fun.

Firm friendships are formed and lessons learned from each other’s experiences.

My first big trip in my campervan in 2013 took me to Mt Isa in western Queensland. I travelled through some pretty boring countryside of rocky outcrops, red dirt and grassy plains. My first big lesson was ‘don’t look AT the countryside, look INTO it’. I have never found countryside boring again!

Bev, a larger than life character I met in Mt Isa, taught me this lesson. This poem was for her.
