The last few days I have been at an event run by one of the motorhome groups in Far North Queensland- Christmas in July 🤶🏻 I’m not sure if other countries celebrate this or
if it’s only a Southern Hemisphere ‘thing’ as our December Christmas celebrations are in the middle of our summer and it can be oppressingly hot 🥵. More like salad weather than a hot roast dinner with all the trimmings! It’s too hot to cook it let alone eat it! So Christmas in July is the perfect time of the year for traditional Christmas fare.

About 300 people gathered in Mareeba, Queensland for four days of fun and we were all parked on the playing fields of the Mareeba Leagues Club.

Naturally our Christmas dinner was the focus of the event but there was plenty of time for some silly fun as well. Here’s our ‘horses’ lined up to race with their jockeys on race day 🏇

Two dice are thrown. The first dice chooses which horse moves and the second dice thrown tells how many paces they take. It’s a bit crazy with lots of cheering from the crowd to urge their favourite on.
There was entertainment every night by different singers, lots of dancing, the occasional drink or three and of course plenty of laughter.

Merry Christmas (in July) everyone 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
