The Yaraka Gymkhana is on this weekend and the horse riding events are dominated by young girls from properties around the region.

And some of them are very young …

It was a wonderful family day with mums and dads cheering on their children as they competed in fun events. Kids doubled up on horses in the equestrian version of musical chairs and we all cheered on our favourites.

This video shows part of an event where the riders had to walk their horse the length of the course, then trot them back to the start, then lead them, running 🏃‍♀️ flat out to the finish line – all in good fun with some healthy competition going on.

Lots of fun, lots of food and happy children and horses. A great community day.
