110 Days Away

On June 7 this year I left Bundaberg to travel to Townsville and Mareeba for CMCA (Campervan & Motorhome Club of Australia) events. That was 110 days ago!

My campervan- home for 110 days!

The first leg of my journey was to Townsville to attend a rally held at the dam, cleverly called the Dam Fine Rally!

Unfortunately the rally was cancelled the evening before it was due to begin when Townsville went into lockdown following a Covid-19 scare!

The three day lockdown ended and it was time to hit the road again…. we were off to Mareeba to a bush camp!

About 110 people came to Ringers Rest near Mareeba, the venue for our bush camp organised by the CMCA Solos Network. The Solos are defined as people who travel one person per vehicle ie for people like me who travel alone 🚐😊

Following the bush camp we celebrated Christmas in July in Mareeba, another CMCA event. This one wasn’t only for Solos though and about 300 people attended.

Where to next? A local CMCA chapter, the Cassowarys also held a bush camp at a great location, Birds on Barron which I attended. More campfires and camaraderie 🔥🚐

Then it was time to explore Far North Queensland! My journey has been well covered in my recent blogs, although there’s a few special places I’m still to write about in the coming days.😊

Now, though, it’s puppy time! I’m heading to my housesit and these three gorgeous fur kids I’ll be looking after for the next few days.
