I’m a Rosemary in Rosewood!
We’ve been camped at the Rosewood Showgrounds for the last few days with our local motorhome chapter, the South East Queensland Kookaburras. Rosewood is a country town on the outskirts of the greater Brisbane area, 60 kms southwest of the CBD.

The train line runs opposite the Showgrounds and is busy! Not only are there regular passenger/commuter trains but goods trains hauling multiple coal wagons go back and forth all day and night with engine drivers delighting in blowing their loud whistles as they pass.
Today we wandered down the Main Street and discovered a lovely little park in the centre of town that paid tribute to the Cobb & Co coaches that plied the roads before the trains took over 🚆 Not the best photo as it was in a huge glass display case 🫤

There were also 3 penny farthing bicycles as a feature with an invitation to sit on the seat – so I thought “Why not!”

An old fashioned bell tower was a bit further down the Main Street and we discovered it was to summon the faithful to the Uniting Church.

Speaking of churches, the Catholic Church here is an enormous timber building, currently undergoing restoration. St Brigid’s was built in 1910 and now needs major repairs to be deemed safe for the congregation to worship there.

It’s a magnificent building and worthy of retaining as a tribute to the past and a wonderful example of craftsmanship.
Tomorrow we’re on our way to Dayboro, north west of Brisbane where we are looking after Augustine, a pampered pooch. I think we’ll be feeling pampered too after enjoying a month of luxury in Tracy & Cary’s beautiful home.
It will certainly be a lifestyle change after nearly 3 months living in the motorhome. …. And then I’ll remember this!
